Extending your living space into the garden with skilled Denver landscaping craftsmen…
Our approach to Denver Landscape Design:
An interview. You will be interviewing us and reviewing our portfolios and credentials. We will be gathering information from you, making suggestions, and establishing the not to exceed design fee. Our Design Agreement will be presented to you at this meeting. The design will incorporate the information communicated at this meeting, so be sure to talk about lifestyle needs such as entertainment and family, functional needs such as service areas, and amenities such as fire rings, water features, and lighting. Are there problems that you are trying to solve, and a list of favorite plants is always good.
Our contract for the design services, outlining the scope as described in our process. Payment schedule is a one-third deposit, a progress billing after the Preliminary Review Meeting, and progress invoices as the work proceeds.
This is a detailed “survey” achieved through on-site measuring of your residence and property. The buildings, hardscape elements and plantings are measured to get an accurate plan of the existing conditions. We shoot grades with a transit to determine drainage patterns and the vertical relationship of the existing elements.
Your Landscape Architect will develop an overall concept for the design. Based on the program elements discussed at the Initial Meeting we determine spatial requirements, material choices, and the beginnings of the Preliminary Design.
At this meeting the plan is presented that creatively solves the design challenges and opportunities. Suggested patio materials, outdoor kitchen components, locations of walls, turf areas, and planting beds are shown. This preliminary plan is thoughtful, and represents graphically the master plan proposed. A Budget Analysis of the construction costs is presented which describes in detail the potential costs of building the preliminary plan.
Many decisions are made after the preliminary meeting. We like to say “now that we have something to point at” we can decide what we want to do. Changes to the design concept can be effected, materials can be optioned to change the construction costs, and construction phasing can be discussed.
The final plan illustrates in plan view the size and location of all design elements such as patios, walks, walls, trellises, and water features. The plan will include a detailed planting design with legend, and elevations of the key design elements. Our Cost Estimate or Bid will include all work, labor and materials, to be done by your landscape architect, all supervision, our construction crews, and any subcontractors involved in the project.
